Yes. There are actually two fans. There is a large conventional fan in the oven back wall used for convection baking. Then there is a small squirrel cage fan at the top back which exhausts through the right hand vent (looking from the front) at the back. This fan appears to be used for keeping the electronics and wiring cooled, and it will operate regardless of the oven convection setting since it's not related to that.

I will be very interested in its response to your question since I am just ready to buy a new range and had selected this one but don't want to buy it if the fan runs in conventional mode.
