“how to get the water tank cover off the GE dehumidifier model number APEL50LZQ1. When I squeeze the clamps in word it is not disengage the clasp clips from the water tank cover so I can’t get it to remove”

The manual is missing a lot of details… First remove the handle from the tank. To do that, tilt the handle at an angle so the little tab on each end of the handle lines up with the notch in the plate that it goes through. Then gently spread the plates apart until you can pull the handle off. Then you have to disengage several clips around the edge of the tank cover, then finally you can squeeze the clips shown in the manual and remove the cover.
