“My dehumidifier has been running for about 2 weeks & the water bin has what looks like black mold. The instruction booklet only says to swish with dish detergent & water to clean but that’s not getting rid of the black residue. Please help.”

Dry the water bin and Try soaking in vinegar for a few minutes and then rinse. Vinegar helps to prevent mold.
