Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi - Thanks for viewing GE! Assuming an eight foot ceiling, a 50 pint unit is recommended for up to 1000 sq. ft. We suggest viewing the following link - DEHUMIDIFIER - SIZING: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-support-search-content?contentId=34664 - If you have any additional questions, do not hesitate to ask, we are also happy to help at GEAppliances.com! Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have read online that 50 pint units will cover around 2000 square feet, depending on how damp your basement may be. I use mine in about 1000 square feet, and it runs regularly right now in this heat. I empty it twice a day as we aren't using the hose hook up, and I have it set to 50% humidity. Hope that helps! So far it has worked well.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My basement is 1200 square feet and it stays around 45 to 48% when I have my dehumidifier running.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. For us it’s handling 2250 to 2500 relatively easily as it’s not cycling on and off a lot and not on for extended times. The initial set up for a few days was different as it was working to get to the lower level we selected and we adjusted to feel after a bit until we got to where it felt right and smelled right in the basement ... good luck
