“I keep seeing conflicting information. Will this unit heat with a HEAT PUMP down to 5 degrees? GE website indicates this uses resistive heating from 5 degrees to 35 degrees. Can you confirm or deny if this uses resistive heating or heat pump below 35?”

They have 2 units that are almost identical the awgp12wwf only uses heat pump function does not have resistive heat anyways these units are hit and miss on quality might work fine might not I would at least recommend the 2 year extended warranty from best buy try to get a price match from them if you look around you can find this cheaper from 1 of there competitors I do not wish to name or my reply might be erased ps I have only tested the unit down at 32 degrees Fahrenheit it has not been colder yet it works fine

However, as outdoor temperatures approach the lower end of that range, there is an increased risk that the outdoor coil may begin to freeze.
