The casual setting is medium heat and will dry the clothes without overheating the syntheic fabrics but will still dry the heavier cotton fabrics...it'll just take a little longer due to the lower heat setting of "casual" then that of the"cotton" setting which is high heat.

The right setting depends on what types of fabric you are drying For cottons and most linens, we recommend using the Cotton setting.
