I doubt that you'll have enough room. The vent is supposed to be 4" in diameter. This dryer can be vented on the left side for gas-powered or electric-powered dryer and on the right side for electric-powered dryer. This may be your best bet if you have room to the side, rather than venting from the back. FYI: if you do change the dryer to vent from the side, you need to order an exhaust cover plate to cover the vent hole in the back. You can order the exhaust cover plate (item # WE49X22606) directly from GE Appliances (www.geappliances,com/ge/parts for about $40. Good luck, getting things to fit can be really challenging! But proper venting is really important!

If installing this dryer anywhere except an alcove or closet, then a minimum clearance of 1" is required only for the rear. If installing in an alcove or closet, then a 1" minimum clearance is required for the front, top, and rear. This clearance can also be used for the ducting.
