• I would check for a clogged dryer exhaust. Check your whole exhaust tube and the outside vent. If this does not do the trick, I suspect you may have a defective heating element. The GE electric dryers only collect about 10% of the lint debris, sending approx. 90% into your dryer exhaust system and your exhaust vent.

• No there’s no reason this is just a bad product to begin with! Mine started like that and stopped heating within 5 months!
