Q: QuestionCan the GE 7.8 Cu ft 10 cycle gas dryer be right-side vented? Specs indicate 4-way venting, but I need to confirm right side can be vented?

Q: QuestionWhat is the height from the bottom of the dryer to the top of the dryer door? Trying to determine if I can stack them with the opening that I have and still allow the door to fully open. Thank you!

• A:Answer You will need to use a 4" rigid metal rigid metal, UL-listed flexible metal, or UL-listed metal foil dryer transition duct to connect the dryer to the home exhaust. We recommend you review the "Exhaust Length" section on pg. 24 of the Owner's Manual.

Q: QuestionI just purchased this gas dryer and had it converted to LP. I tested it this weekend for about 25-30 mins and there was a VERY strong gas odor. Is that normal? Does it go away over time?

• A:Answer Hi - Thank you for reaching out to us. During initial use of a new dryer, you may notice an odor that has an oily or burning smell. This odor is considered normal and may be emitted as the natural oils deposited from human hands during product assembly or dust accumulated on various mechanical parts burns off during initial operation. To eliminate this problem odor, run your empty dryer for 20 minutes. That said, there should not be a strong gas odor present. If you continue to have difficulty, we recommend calling GE Appliances service at 1-800-432-2737 to schedule an appointment to have the dryer checked. We hope this helps. Kind regards - Vikki@GEA

• A:Answer 32” is only the cabinet with door. It does not include a potential rear exhaust venting pipe. The venting can be either out the back, side, or bottom of the dryer. If you have the rear exhaust configuration it will add about 5” and building code may require additional space between the vent and the wall.
