Hello - this is Nancy at GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. This unit is required to be installed at least 66" minimum mounting height from the floor. The 66" from the floor dimension will allow approximately 13-1/2"-16" between the cooktop and the bottom front of the microwave. It is not critical that this 13-1/2"/14"-16" figure is met exactly. It is the 66" from floor to top of microwave dimension that should be followed. Another way to look at it is keep 30" between top of the range and bottom of the cabinet to which the microwave is attached. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
