- Answer Hi Dawn, This is Lisa from GE Appliances. I am happy to assist you with your question. In the case of a power outage, you can light the surface burners with a match on your electric ignition gas or dual fuel range or gas cooktop. Hold a lighted match to the burner, then turn the knob to the low position. Note: Use extreme caution when lighting the burners this way. I hope this helps. Thanks for checking with us. - Answer Hello Bob, This is Michelle with GE and I am happy to answer your question. Yes, this range model AGBS45DEFWS employs the electronic ignition for both the cooktop and the oven. GE currently offers one gas model that does not use an electronic ignition. The model number is JGBS14PCFWW.
