• No, you can install them directly in the drywall hole - they have 2 clips that holds them pretty tightly to the ceiling.

• Excellent question! It does not. The wafer installs from where you cut the hole in the ceiling to run the wiring for the wafer. You don’t need any type of can fixture for it since it’s flat! - Cync Support
