“What is the diameter of the J-mount pole? I would like to purchase, but can already see I would need an extension to get the antenna higher since I will be mounting at the roof peak.”

You can mount it that way, or, remove the small pipe and mount directly on another mast.

Here are the diameters for the J-mount pole. 0.875 or 14/16 for the inner part of metal. 0.9375 or 15/16 outer part of metal.
