Does the unit come with a filter null

We received our GE PVD28BYNGFS about 4 months ago. When it was delivered, they did not provide the bypass filter that GE states should be supplied free. I called GE @ 1-800-626-2005, and they took my info and provided me a case number and was told that they would be shipping one out to me free of charge since the new fridge should have come with the bypass plug!

Hi! Thanks for asking. Yes, the fridge will come with a filter upon delivery. When you need to purchase another, this model takes the XWFE filter. Also, if you don't want to use a filter, your unit should also come with a bypass plug. If the plastic bypass plug was not supplied with the refrigerator or has been misplaced, one can be ordered at no charge by calling 1-800-GECARES (1-800-432-2737) - Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. – 9 p.m. ET, Saturday – Sunday: 8 a.m. – 6 p.m. ET.
