• The "Replace Water Filter" message on the control panel will illuminate when the water filter cartridge needs to be replaced soon. The "Water Filter Expired" message will illuminate when the water filter cartridge needs to be replaced. The water filter can be replaced earlier if the flow of water to the dispenser or icemaker decreases. -Don@GEAppliances
