Oversizing a circuit breaker can be a safety concern. If there is a direct short in an appliance a breaker will kick off even if oversized, but if there is simply a crossed or burned wire it may not turn off. The breaker size recommendations we provide are based on National Electrical Codes. You may wish to check to see what your local codes recommend as they always prevail. -Vikki@GEAppliances
