Hi - Thank you for reaching out to us. Our Profile, Cafe, and Monogram refrigerators that offer an icemaker and/or chilled water do utilize an internal filter that is included with the refrigerator. If you choose not to use the filter, a bypass plug must be installed. This bypass plug is included with many models. If the bypass plug is missing from your new refrigerator, please contact us to receive one at no charge. All our best! Vikki@GEA
