Hi Bygator - Thanks for choosing GE Profile™! This unit operates on a 208V or 240V- 40 Amp circuit (KW Rating at 208V= 6.4; KW Rating at 240V= 7.4). We suggest to check the specifications for your current cooktop as some operate on 30 Amps. We didn’t. We paid for the installation, but it seemed pretty strait forward after watching him do it. He simply disconnected the old cooktop and used the same wires and junction box to connect the induction cooktop.
