to set it vertical in the opening, 10 3/4". You can angle it slightly and fill a taller water bottle.

Please try again later.The water bottle area comfortably fits a 16 oz water bottle (typical size) and tall glasses.....if you have a larger one you may have to tilt it to use it, it depends on how big it is. I use a tall 32 oz cup with no issues. As far as ice buckets go, you will have to hold it to load it. The tray area is fairly shallow but typical in size to other brands.
