Hey there - Thank you for reaching out to us. These are great questions and we'd be happy to answer them for you! If you lose power, you are able to use the burners on the cooktop. In the case of a power outage, you can light the surface burners on your electric ignition gas cooktop or gas/dual fuel range using a match. Hold a lighted match next to the burner, then turn the knob to the low position. Use caution when lighting the burners this way. The grates on this unit are not continuous, as there is a griddle in the center. We hope this helps. Kindly reach out to us if you have additional questions. All our best! -Kacie@GEA
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I imagine the gas will work but the starter won't without power. Use a match I guess. The grates are in 3 sections; left, middle, right. The middle can be swapped with the griddle plate.
