It is normal to hear a squeak or squeaking sounds when the Opal is in need of defrosting, it may start to squeak as ice starts to build up around the mechanisms. The defrost cycle is automatic and may take 10 to 45 minutes. You can view instructions on defrosting this appliance on page 7 of the Owner's Manual. You can view the Owner's Manual by clicking the ‘From the Manufacturer’ tab and scrolling all the way down on the page, you will see a link that says Use and Care Manual.
