Q: QuestionHi. I need to replace this exact microwave after 5 years. It is the second one I have had and it has chipped and peeled on the bottom no matter what I have done or cleaned it. I Have followed instructions . Why is this product so poorly made ?

Q: QuestionI have a GE Profile Spacemaker II Microwave built in to a kitchen cabinet and top mounted to the base of a cabinet above. Model No. JEM31SF001, S/N AF900210B; KW 1.25. Stainless steel finish, Mfg 2002. Not working. What is the replacement model?

• A:Answer Hi Jeff, I am happy to help. The replacement model is PEM31SFS. You will want to purchase the new trim kit with the new model, as the old one cannot be used. This requires the use of the Optional Hanging Kit #JXA019K. This kit is purchased separately and includes the necessary hardware, including the bolts, to hang the microwave. Q: QuestionCan you tell me why the Jx 827 Sfss has black sides. I want it to match the other stainless steel appliances in my high end kitchen but the black plastic sides don’t match. The only microwave that fits the opening is the GE Pem 31.

Q: QuestionI had a countertop Kenmore microwave approx. 15 1/4" high and 23 1/2" wide that sat in a cutout above the oven that measured approx. 17 1/4" high and 33 3/4" wide. It had multi-power cooking, delay start, three-stage cooking, etc. Can it be replaced?

The closest model we offer in size is model PEB7226DFWW: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/ge-profile-series-2-2-cu-ft-built-in-microwave-white/5958617.p?skuId=5958617 We recommend using the trim kit to build the microwave into the space. When placing on a shelf keep in mind that microwaves need adequate air clearance on each side, the rear and the top to function properly. This allows good circulation for the intake and discharge air vents. Countertop Models: ~3" of clearance on both sides and the top ~1" clearance in the rear ~The front edge of the microwave (measured at door) should sit at least 3" or more back on the counter or shelf to avoid accidental tipping. ~If located on the counter near a range, we recommend locating it at least 2 ft away. ~Do not place near or over a heat source.
