A:AnswerThis lovely microwave is designed to be placed on your counter top, suspended from the underside of your cabinet (not above a heat source) or built-in to your wall using an approved kit. The built-in kits are the JX830SFSS or JX827SFSS and the hanging kit is a JXA019K. This microwave is not designed to be installed above a range.
A:AnswerYes, all as-is appliances carry a functional warranty only. Warranties supplied on products sold "AS IS" carry the same functional warranties as do products sold brand new. Any missing part or accessory from an appliance sold "AS IS" is responsibility of the consumer. A bill of sale, cancelled check or other payment record should be kept to verify the original purchase date and to establish the warranty period. Warranty period begins with date of purchase.
A:AnswerThe PEM31SFSS would be a great addition to your home. The dimensions for this unit are: 11 3/4 H x 24 W x 12 7/8 D. Trim kits are specific are to each model so you will not be able to use your existing kit. The compatible trim kits for the PEM31SFSS are: JX830SFSS and JX827SFSS.
A:AnswerThe closest replacement for the JEM31SF model is the PEM31SFSS unit and corresponding trim kit. You will need to know the cutout dimensions of the space. Comparing the two models, the cut-out dimensions are very similar and will work as long as your current cutout meets those requirements. Additionally, the new unit will require the trim kit that is made specifically for the PEM31SFSS. These are available in 27" or 30" widths. This can be found in the quick specs on the website searching the model number. The part number for the kit are as follows- 27" Deluxe 26-7/8" 16-1/2" JX827SFSS/ 30" Deluxe 29-7/8" 16-1/2" JX830SFSS.
A:AnswerWe are happy to suggest a replacement for this unit. The model PEM31SFSS has the same features as your current one plus more! If we can answer any additional questions feel free to reach back out and let us know.
A:AnswerNot sure of your dimensions. You must measure well. But I just replaced my microwave and trim. The new microwave and new trim kit is smaller than the existing hole made for the older models that it replaces. But they do sell stainless steel filler strips on Amazon. Problem solved and looks great. It’s not completely easy. It takes some carpentry skills and ingenuity but I figured it out.
A:AnswerThank you for bringing this to our attention. This does not sound like normal operation. We recommend scheduling a service appointment with a GE Appliances technician. You can do this by calling 833-426-3393 Monday – Friday: 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. ET Saturday – Sunday. We are confident they will be able to help diagnose what is happening with your unit.

A:AnswerMicrowaves need adequate air clearance on each side, the rear and the top to function properly. This allows good circulation for the intake and discharge air vents. The PEM31DFBB is 12 1/8 H x 24 inches W x 12 7/8 D. We recommend making sure you have the space on the shelf for this size model. Provided below are the guidelines to ensure your Countertop Microwave has the correct air clearances. ~3" of clearance on both sides and the top. ~ 1" clearance in the rear.
~ The front edge of the Microwave (measured at the door) should sit at least 3" or more back on the counter or shelf to avoid accidental tipping. ~ If located on the counter near a Range, we recommend locating it at least 2 feet away from the Range.
A:AnswerAll of our 30" over-the-range microwaves replace each other! We have models JNM3163DJWW and JVM3162DJWW that would be great replacement models. Please know that you'll have to use the hardware and brackets that come with your new unit, as these kits are model specific.
A:AnswerThanks for checking with us. These are the same model. When the model is manufactured, these extra letters/numbers are placed on the appliance rating plate and product registration card. These letters/numbers are used to identify manufacturing specific data when the appliance is made. Should service or parts be needed, these are used as identifiers for the specific appliance.
A:AnswerYes, our countertop microwaves require a 120 volt, individual, properly grounded branch circuit with a 3 prong grounding type receptacle protected by a 15 or 20 amp circuit breaker or time-delay fuse.
A:AnswerThese microwaves are the same, just a slightly newer version. The materials of the unit may have changed slightly. You will need to ensure that you use the hardware and brackets that come with your new unit.
A:AnswerNo. If you are replacing a current built-in, know that the mounting holes may be in different locations (see my image of mounting holes).
It seems GE used a specific screw size and thread pitch that isn't actually compatible with the generic mounting hardware available at Best Buy. (see the 1* review that discussed tightening screws only to find they could be jiggled out by hand)
A:AnswerThis is a built-in capable microwave, not one of our over-the-range models. You will need to purchase the trim kit separately, as this is optional.
