Q: QuestionOur cabinet is 18h 25w and 11d. Is there a small microwave that will fit on a shelf in the cabinet? Looking for something that would fit depth wise including the cord in the back and the 1” clearance needed in back. Thanks.

In addition to the 1" air clearance needed in the rear, we also recommend 3" clearance on each side as well as 3" on the top. Q: QuestionWe are replacing our over the counter range microwave to a new spot in the kitchen we no longer need the exhaust function. We just need a regular microwave that will fit into the 30 in open. What model do you recommend.

Q: QuestionI have GE Model #JEM31SF01 which came with the home. It has been of great use. Except for the fact that the top panel has the coating flaking off. Is this a common factor with age? If so I don't want to purchase another GE.

Q: QuestionSpecs for built-in microwave model PEM31SFSS, to replace my dead m'w, informs me that it does not have interior light when it is operating! Strange, since interior light is necessary to see the status of item being cooked or brewed. Really? or spec error?

Q: QuestionCan this microwave be installed in a 12"D upper cabinet & be safe?Twice above GE reps said yes to the 12" cabinet but the file reps attached specifies a 16" cabinet depth. Is the instruction ONLY for ABOVE an electric oven? How deep just itself installed?

We recommend model PEB9159DJBB since it is in Black and can be bought with either a 27" or 30" trim kit. Its dimensions are slightly different, though. Your current microwave is 13-3/4" x 24-3/32" x 19-3/8" (HxWxD). Our recommendation is 13" x 21-3/4" x 20" (HxWxD). If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! -Chris@GEA

• A:Answer Here is a suggestion in case Best Buy can't help you: Try a kitchen cabinet maker/installer. I was shocked how much trouble it was and how long it took me to get mine properly installed. In retrospect, I would have preferred to pay an experienced person $100 or even $200 to do the installation.
