Ours is setup to vent out the front. There is also the option to vent externally. There has been no heat buildup impacting our cabinet. We love this unit!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hello - this is Nancy at GE and I am happy to help you. This is a very nice over-the-range microwave. It is externally vented through the top of the microwave. It does not vent through the front unless you were to change the exhaust from externally vented to internally vented. I hope this helps! Thanks for checking with us!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There is an option to redirect the exhaust. A small panel comes off on the outer cabinet in order to get to the fan turbines. You flip the turbines around and replace the panel according to the direction of exhaust you choose. The first one I had I exhausted back into the room using a charcoal filter that comes with it. 10 years later, when I replaced it, I opened up the sealed off venting in the wall behind it (from my very old double oven range) and vented it out the back and into the exhaust duct.. 3 choices - out the front, out of the top or out the back. .
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It has 3 venting options I use the recirculating and it vents out the top but it won't hurt your cabinets. By the time it goes through the 2 filters and the distance the air travels there is nothing to worry about
