“I need to replace my unit , series JE1860SH, 12 3/4 by 24 inches. I do not see any GE that will fit exactly in my existing trim kit. I have to say that if there is not, I will not buy a GE microwave as I am no longer tied to the trim kit.”

There is a direct replacement for that unit it is GE : JES2051SNSS

A trim kit consists of the trim frame, as well as an upper, lower, and rear duct that attaches to and encases the microwave inside the cabinet cut-out. It is important to only use the trim kit designed for that model. The actual cabinet cutout requirement is the same for both models.
