I just purchased this fridge, and I can't understand why the Actual never lights up. Only the Set is lit up. I have tried pressing both Refrigerator and Freezer buttons to shut off the unit and then turned it back on, and it did not help. Upon a search of numerous reviews, it seems this is a common issue, and even the GE representatives answering this question have conflicting answers. Some say you can unplug the fridge and it Actual should appear, and others say Actual is not a working function. The incompetence is amazing.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I had to get this same fridge replaced and both units set vs actual didn’t work. This feature doesn’t work, and probably never worked. GE won’t even respond to me about why.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi there, and thanks for reaching out. We hate to hear you’ve had an issue with the refrigerator not showing the actual temperature; we know that must be frustrating, and we’d like to assist. When you press and release the Refrigerator or Freezer pads, the Actual Temp light will come on and the display will show the actual temperature. More details are available in the manual, with discussion of adjusting the temperature settings on page 10; if you’d like to view that, it’s available here: https://files.bbystatic.com/rcwXk3MoOLGPF4eWNT%2F%2BXg%3D%3D/9B4EDA2E-B17F-4B63-9D81-A16785741776.pdf . If you continue to have trouble after following those instructions, resetting the refrigerator by unplugging it for a couple minutes may help. We hope this information is helpful, and you’re able to get the actual temperature to display. If you do have any further concerns or questions, we’re always happy to assist. All the best! -Sarah@GEA
