• Hi scottiemomma -Thanks for considering GE! Yes, the top control panel overlaps the top portion of the door so you will see a small bit of chrome. We also offer GE® Built-In Dishwasher with Hidden Controls GLDT696JSS. This model does not have the overlap. Keep in touch! SUEatGEA
