“Is the 7-inch-tall pedestal the only one that works with this unit? I see a 16-inch-tall pedestal with a storage drawer listed on the same page listed as "Customers often buy these together" but I don't see it officially called out as compatible.”

Just purchased this item with the 16" drawer pedestal. It fits and functions as intended. The trick is, you have to assemble some brackets to both the washer/dryer and the pedestal (very easy). But, this requires laying the washer/dryer on it's back. This unit is heavy, requires two persons to get this done. A nice feature is, you can remove the drawer (two screws) and reach into/under to complete the unit leveling process. Ours was in a tight space, this was very helpful to complete.
