Hello Patti, I am happy to help. GE Appliances and I am happy to help you. This washer has a 2.2 cubic foot capacity. Your washer is limited by the volume of clothes that can be put in the machine. For example, a down comforter can fill the entire machine but weigh very little, while blue jeans are heavy but typically a smaller load. Make sure to load the clothing loosely. As long as the clothing fits below the balance ring of the washer tub and is not stuffed in the tub tightly it will wash fine. Thanks for checking with us! Lisa from GE Appliances.
