Thank you for reaching out, Teachers4. The new operating system updates haven't prevented the VR units from working with a device, as long as that device is on the list as compatible with the VR unit. In this case you shouldn't have any problems using this with the updated Note 5. I hope that helped to answer your questions! ^Viv
