• The Gear VR is able to play 2D, 3D, 180° or 360° VR videos as well as games. You can play almost any video file on your smartphone through several different apps such as Oculus Video and Milk VR. There are also VR video apps like Netflix and Hulu to watch video content there as well.

• Yes it works with both. There is a Samsung app as well as others (including the standard like Netflix and Hulu) that works with Video. Also YouTube.

• It works with regular videos in a 2d format, as well as specially filmed 180° and 360° 2d and 3d videos shot especially for the headset. There isn't a wide selection of video yet but it is growing rapidly.
