The Hepa filter and carbon filter will need to be replaced every 6-8 months and vacuumed off once a month.

I think they technically want people to change both at once, but I know I live in an extremely dusty area, so it is unrealistic (and costly) to change both every time the carbon filter is full as I know the HEPA isn't. So, I bought a pack of carbon filters off amazon to change out a massively full carbon filter. I've gone through 2 of them and only now is my HEPA filter in need to changing. Hope that helps!
