I'm not even using this a week and I can smell the difference in the air. It seems like I can still smell the slight cigarette smell through the walls but it's not heavy anymore and I am wondering if it's my imagination that I'm smelling anything at times. I can finally get some sleep. Made me wonder if the neighbors whom I share a thin wall with were smoking at times so I shut it off and the smell was heavy again so I put it back on and the smell seemed light and went away, this has helped a lot. I will see how well it will works for me in the long run. So far I am happy with this air purifier.

It’s the first HEPA filter I’ve owned in years, and it does an excellent job. Functionality - it gets the job done. It’s relatively quiet, the cord is long enough to position away from furniture but not so long that you risk tripping over it, and most importantly, it doesn’t scare the cats so it’s safe to place in the general vicinity of the litter box when necessary. It would be nice if it had a timer feature and if it had a natural way to wrap up the cord when not in use.

I have been running my air purifier 24/7 for almost 2 months now. I haven't had any problems with this unit. PROS: 1) Really cleans the air- after just a WEEK of use, the outer (carbon) filter was covered in dust! Disgusting, but I'm satisfied to know that wasn't in my lungs. I vacuum the filter once a week. 2) HEPA filter. Although I can't actually "see" what it is catching, I know it is helping my air quality! I live in Utah where the inversion pollutes the air on a regular basis during the winter. This air purifier gives me peace of mind, knowing that when I come home I am in a clean air environment. Not only that, but it catches dust mite allergens, pollen, plant spores, bacteria, fungi, mold, smoke, dust..... We are definitely sleeping better at night, not waking up with the usual "stuff" that you have to clear out of your throat in the morning... catch my drift? 3) UV light- peace of mind that the germs that are caught by this thing are killed. 4) Catches SMELL (carbon filter)- I am used to smelling leftovers when I let my pots/pans soak in the sink overnight. Not anymore! I know this works because one time we went out of town overnight and turned the unit off. When we came back, our apartment smelled like soaking dishes/leftovers. A smell I'm glad to be rid of using this unit! CONS: 1) When I first got this unit, the lowest setting was pretty quiet. It is noticeably louder now. However, at this setting me and my husband are still able to sleep with the unit in our bedroom at night. AKA not too loud for sleeping (and I used to sleep strictly with earplugs for 2 years straight, so that should tell you something!). Because the fan got louder, I rate this product 4/5 stars. I hope it doesn't continue to get louder. I will update if it does. 2) When we first used it, it did have a "new" or plastic/carbon smell to it. I imagine this was the carbon filter. The smell was gone by the second or third day. I recommend this product. It is the best Air purifier/HEPA filter you can get for this price range. Obviously if you spend more money, you can get a much better product that will cover more square footage. **IMPORTANT- the 22" model can be used up to 155 sq. ft. The 28" model can be used up to 193 sq. ft. Buy according to your needs. AKA, measure the living space you want to use this unit in. In bigger rooms you will need MORE THAN ONE UNIT if you want this product to work effectively. Just an FYI.

My wife and I purchased the air purifier for our daughter and my wife herself. If you close a room out with the purifier on, You can really feel the difference in the air compared to the other rooms around your home. We used the purifier extensively everyday and got 15months out of the filter compared to the 6-9months the manufacture gives. I highly recommend this product for cleansing the air if you suffer from a lot of allergies like my wife does. It has really made it an ease for her during the spring season.

I purchased this in November and really wanted to give it time before reviewing. On that note, I highly recommend the Germ Guardian for bedroom use for a couple of reasons. It's almost completely eliminated nighttime suffering from seasonal allergens and even kept many germs from circulating within our family during the cold months. I've run it 24/7 since plugging it in and it's still running the same as day 1. It's not loud in my opinion, the fan level is adjustable and the high level is like hearing a fan; nothing crazy though. We turned its filtering level up for when someone was sick and low for regular run time. It's hardly noticeable on low. I highly recommend this for allergy/asthma sufferers and kids in close quarters (sharing a room) because it's helped prevent so much. On a side note, the filter is super easy to change and the light came on for the first time (June 2019) since we purchased the unit (November 2018). I wish I'd thought about replacing the carbon filters before now, definitely will more frequently for teenager stink. It's already noticeably helping that since changing both filters. Reset the filter change light by holding down the button ;-) I'll likely be purchasing more for the remaining bedrooms.

This has been amazing at night in my bedroom when sleeping. It has improved my Asthma and Allergy symptoms. The uvb light is a little bright but can easily be turned off when needed. Highly recommend one of these if you suffer from allergies.

Works amazing! Noticeable difference in air quality. Even removed odor of skunk from the air (we have skunks that live in our neighborhood).

Perfect for an active home with pets and kids. Helps knock out dog food smells and sweaty kid smells :-)

I have two units, one in the bedroom & in the living room/dining room. I notice a difference in air quality, I have bad allergies & breathe so much better. I like that the replacement air filter is just one unit.

We needed a few new filters after the old Honeywell ones died so after some researching, these were just the right combo of effectiveness, price, and availability (locally). Set up is easy and the filters are cheap as well. So far, we're definitely seeing an improvement in the lack of visible dust on flat surfaces (table tops, etc.) and smells dissipating after cooking seems faster than usual. They run quietly on the low setting and I just fire up the UV filter from time to time.

We run this with the UV light on and the fan on the lowest setting and it seems to do well in terms of removing odors and clearing the air of dust and pollens. I don't wake up congested as much as before. However we did buy this just as the worst of the spring tree pollen season was ending. I do think it works and just the fact that it can remove cooking odors from the bedroom is a plus.

We found some mold in the girls bedroom after having sick children for about a month, we immediately took care of the mold and got 2 of these put one in their bedroom and one in living room after about one week they were ok. Later our 3 yr. old asthma dau. started with a cold which usually ends up getting really sick I had it running in their bedroom on 1 all night and was amazed that i didn`t have to get up with her at all that night, her lungs were much clearer the next morning. My Hubby mentioned that the house smells cleaner. Also helped greatly when I was having morning sickness to turn it on to help with food odors. We dont have pets but have 5 children. It is a little loud on 3 but you can usually freshen up a room in about 10 min. on 2 or 3 than turn to 1 after that.

This is my second time purchasing this. I purchased one for the home a few years back and it still works wonderfully. I ended up purchasing one for my spouses office space and I am very happy with it. I can feel it working. It produces clean and cool air. I love looking at what the filter catches! This is a great product, easy to use, and looks sleek (especially with the UV light on).

Just what we needed and very quiet! Fall & winter when heat goes on and the windows close it seems that the air quality changes. Soon after putting on no more stuffy noses and air seemed fresher! Run 24 hours and so quite you forget its in the room! Purchasing one for each bedroom, UV light a bonus to help kill virus as entering cold & flu session! Great buy!

I really love this air purifier...it is small enough to fit in any tight spots..it is very quiet and really does the job. I can breathe much better the next day after a good nights sleep and I wake up ready for the day.It truly is a great price for ths unit and I recomend it to anyone that needs to breather better in their home..!!

From all the reviews I read about this unit I have decided the noise is not an issue as the different settings allow you to keep it down. my boy has a 120 sq foot room and works great on low and does not smell like others have said. I have not purchased replacement filters but they are reasonably priced and the sale price on this unit / color / size is great. I have noticed my sons allergies are better / we dust more / and keep the animals out of the room. the other one we bought is in the family room and you can only hear it if the tv isn't on or if nobody is talking etc...
