Just follow the filter change instruction. I did not change yet but definitely I will change mine every 3 months for the first use. Just imagine how all the dust inside the filter. I dont think the smoke will ruin the purifier. For me? The Air Purifier helps getting rid of the smell, smoke from cooking bbq. I have indoor grill and sometimes I am frying foods. I am amazed how this air purifier helped getting less smell in my house and for a short time the smell is gone. Overall it really helps. I have two of this kind of model, and I have a bigger one same brand. I am planning to get one for our basement.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If the filter is not replaced regularly and not maintained monthly, it can likely cause the unit to have issues as a full filter will make the unit work harder. BBQ smoke will not damage the filter, however the odor can linger in the filter.
