“How do you open the backplate of the laptop to upgrade RAM/SSD. I looked on the back and noticed there are 10 torx screws which can be unscrewed and there are also two slotless/blank screws planted near the bottom. How do people get around these screws?”

Go to Harbor Freight and buy a 100 piece bit set for $10. Then you can open anything! They also have a 32 piece precision set with all the little funny bits for $7
