How are the keycaps powered? Do they use batteries? null

They aren’t powered by anything, they are simply translucent providing whatever lighting being emitted from your keyboard to shine through.

No power. They use the key switch built in lighting. These are only caps. Not switches. The switch has the lighting. If your keyboard does not already have lights then you would be better off just buying a good keyboard that has lighted key switches.
