- Answer Not sure, I power mine exclusively by solar. I thought you were not suppose to completely discharge the unit. Manual say 6-8 hours.

- Answer It’s a security blanket. I feel secure in the knowledge that if or when the power goes out we won’t be “in the dark”. For eighty hours (or longer with the solar charger) our home, cell phones and etc can be kept fully charged with the Yeti 500X
