• It's not necessary. You can use any regular USB C to USB cable to charge it. However, it will take hours to charge using that method. With the Google 30W it takes about two hours to go from 25% to 100% on my Pixel 7.

• No it is not at all required to charge your pixel 8. Your Samsung charger is completely fine to use
