Yeah it'll work with wifi connectivity, hotspot and there's an adapter you can buy that will take an Ethernet cable.

It can be set to do an ad-hoc streaming if your computer/phone/etc. is close enough to it.

Yes, You can use it anywhere. All you need to do is to connect to that wifi when you first switch it on from a different network. Just make sure that sometimes in hotels they restrict this.

Yes, It can be connected to any wifi, any TV until unless wifi restrictions are applied. Mine is smart tv even though I bought this to watch other shows.
