The Chromecast and mobile should be connected to the same wifi to mirror ur screen.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was able to mirror phone to tv without wifi. It took a few tries and rather than try to explain how to here, go to "youtube" and search. There are a couple of "how to's" to get around not needing wifi. I don't have internet at my house and I am able to "mirror" content from my phone to my tv wirelessly with this Chromecast. I have unlimited data on my phone so I can do Pandora, watch movies, surf net from my phone and watch on tv. I bought a low end Insignia 40" 1080 p (not a smart tv) for my bedroom and I can connect it to my Galaxy Note 4. Good luck!
