• I can't tell you that because I avoid those things and the unit is pretty cheap. No service calls required. Just buy a new one.

• It's $35- if it fails after the warranty, something newer and probably better will likely be available by that time.

• I would honestly just suggest getting the 2 year, because for only $10 more of the 4 year you can get a brand new device for that price. I suggest the protection plans since you can literally just walk into a best buy and have it replaced if it stops working (as long as you don't damage it), so you don't have to worry about going through the manufacture.
