Does it matter if my TV is in the basement? null

Chrome cast should work anywhere in the house that gets wifi signal, because that is how it gets the signal to stream content.

Your Internet signal strength is the issue. If you are sharing saved content from a device it will not matter. But, if you are streaming and you do not have strong signal strength in your basement it will not function as you desire.

As long as the TV is within WiFi range, it doesn't matter where it is located.

It matters how well your internet connection is down there.

If your WIFI covers your basement you are good.

As long as your wifi works down there then it should. It piggy backs on the wifi to send the stream from your device to the TV it's plugged into

That should be fine, as long as the chromecast and whichever device you use (your smartphone) have a good wi-fi connection to the same network.

It does not matter as long as Chromcast can pick up your Wi-Fi signal and you have device to play such as tablet, cell phone, and etc

It actually would not connect to my wifi and perform from my basement tv. The way it plugs I to your tv it's plugged in so close to the back of the tv it can't be positioned t receive a good signal. Other products I use have no issue receiving wifi signal to the same spot. Several different products actually and all have worked besides the chrome cast. I would not recommend this product when it is located very far from wifi signal and actually I wouldn't recommend this unless it is right next to the wifi signal or if a wifi booster is being used which I did not Personally try.
