• The adapter is rated 110-240V, so it should work for you. In any case, Chromecast has a connector for a standard USB charger, the same as for cell phones. If for some reason you're going to use an alternative power supply (not recommended) to the one that comes with the device, make sure it's of good quality and has the same power rating as the original.

• no need to plug to power socket. You can plug it straight to usb port in your TV to charge. always ready.
