If you have a smart TV it should connect to your WiFi to enable you to stream content from the internet without the need for a chromecast. However, you are limited to the options that your smart TV provides- hulu, Netflix etc. I use a Chromecast plugged into my smart TV because chromecast allows me to play anything that is on the internet onto my TV, whereas my smart TV limits my television options to the platforms that the TV brand provides an interface for and came preloaded when I purchased the TV. The chromecast is also a faster better connection than going thru the smart TV connection, so I always opt to connect via chromecast, even for content that my TV would support without a Chromecast.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unless your TV can perform mobile to TV mirroring or can cast from the PC to the TV, you would need this.
