Warm to the touch or even very warm is normal. If it's getting hot to the point where you can't touch it I'd file for a warranty. Ensure you're using the supplied AC-USB power adapter and making sure it's getting good airflow where ever you may have it placed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I use the USB for power from the tv and now if the tv is off the Chromecast its also off. Turn the tv on and the Chromecast turns on. Give it 3-5 secs to load and you're ready to go. I don't have issues with the device heating up for the amount of time I watch TV. Hope that helps.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I leave mine plugged into power outlet and TV 24/7 it gets warm, but never HOT. Perhaps you have a program that is streaming which will make it work harder or your downloading something big to the TV from your phone or tablet?
