This device allows you to "cast" what you are seeing from either your phone or computer (with wifi). You can cast whatever website or video you are watching. You still control it from either the phone or computer. You can't do anything but view from the tv.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unless you have a smart tv, you need a chromecast or a Roku. I have tried both. The Roku setup is a more challenging to set up. I would recommend the chromecast.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, you need another device. The other device selects the stream and then controls the chromecast to receive the stream.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hhhmmm, I'm not sure I understand your question. I have a smart TV but it is very limited in it's internet capabilities (I can only access NetFlix and Yahoo). So, I bought the Chromecast device, which now gives me the ability to access YouTube and surf the internet in general. My router is plugged directly into my TV. If you're concern is having too many devices, you may not have a choice. If you have a modern smart TV you should be able to go router to TV (probably via your cable TV provider), and you won't need the Chromecast device. Unless you're TV is like mine, a little older and has limited internet capabilities.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Chromecast is a WiFi only device. No direct connection to the router possible. That said, you can stream from a pc using the Chrome browser, and you can stream to the device from your phone without WiFi using the app.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Just buy a Chromecast and plug it in. Good to Go. Best thing ever. It uses your own wireless network.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.you can use this on wifi or lan cable. The wifi should be enough for most streaming depending on your internet connection
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sorry Joe, dont understand your question... If you would like to go from the router to the tv directly, you have to have an smart tv, otherwise you need an extra equipment to do the magic.
