My neighbour lets me use his WiFi so can I connect without pressing the wps button on the router? will it pick up multiple WiFi's and connect to open and secured accounts(with appropriate passwords of course)”

• For first setup, the Chromecast broadcasts its own WiFi network that whichever device you use for setup will connect to. During setup, you can select a WiFi network and input the necessary information.

• It seems to me that pressing the wps button is a function of the router, not the chromecast. I have 3 chromecasts which connect without assistance. The chromecast must be set up using the downloaded chromecast app to your smartphone, tablet, or computer. Setup, selection, and change of the wifi networks used by the chromecast is done through this app,

• Yes, the chromecast can connect to Wifi without pressing the connect button. When you go thru setup , select the Wifi you wish to connect to, then enter a password, if there is one, or just connect if there is no password.

• No you must configure the unit manually. If you have the Password to your neighbors router you can assign the Chromecast to the router with the correct password to allow you WiFi access.... It will then connect automatically.

• Yes, it found my home wifi instantly, both the 2.4 and 5.0 ghz. I didn't have to use the wps button at all.
