Yes, because you are watching what you are streaming through your tablet, phone or other device. What is happening here is that you are able to watch whatever is on your device without a cord connecting it to the TV. If you want TV without internet access, a simple over the air antenna that you can purchase at a drugstore will work well for the basic network stations. Just make sure you are in an area where you have a good signal from the tower. You can Google that to find out. For example, I am near Hollywood, Florida, and the signal is fantastic. But In New Jersey, where I was only 12 miles from the tower in New York, too much interference between us made it less effective.
