• Chromecast Ultra needs to be plugged into an open outlet with the power cable included in the box. An HDMI port or any other USB cable can't charge Chromecast Ultra. You can take a look at this support page for more details : https://support.google.com/chromecast/answer/3212934?hl=en

• It needs to be plugged in, but it comes with the AC plug. In addition, the AC plug itself has an Ethernet port so your Chromecast can be hardwired.
